You usually can't tell anything is wrong by looking at one. A stuck check valve or a worn relief valve shows up on a test, or as water dripping or spitting from the relief port. How often does a backflow device need to be tested?
In Ohio, backflow prevention assemblies generally need to be tested at least once a year. Your water supplier usually sends a notice when the test is due. Have that notice handy when you call (513) 813-7526.
What happens if my backflow device fails the test?
We find the problem area and repair it. If the internal parts are worn, our certified professionals can rebuild the device. Then we test it again.
