# Leaking Pipes

Some leaks are easy to spot, like a dripping joint under a sink or a wet stain on the basement ceiling. Others hide in the yard, under the slab or behind a wall. Those show up as a higher water bill, a meter that keeps moving with every fixture off, soggy ground over the service line or a sewer smell that won't go away. We do leak detection on both sewer lines and water lines. Once we find the leak, we replace or fix the problem areas so your lines work the way they should. On water pipe repairs we use **Viega ProPress fittings**, which press onto the pipe instead of being soldered. ## Common questions

How can I tell if I have a hidden water line leak?

Turn off every faucet and appliance, then watch your water meter. If it keeps moving, water is going somewhere. A water bill that jumps for no reason, damp spots in the yard or the sound of running water are other common signs.

Do you fix the pipe after you find the leak?

Yes. Once we locate the leak in a sewer or water line, we replace or repair the problem section so the line is back in working order.

What fittings do you use on pipe repairs?
